Anyone else a huge fan of pretzels? Honestly pretzels are one of my favorite snacks, but the idea of making them at home seemed daunting. I figured it was a long and difficult process to make pretzels, but let me tell you I was wrong. Making pretzel bites using pizza dough at home is super easy and they taste amazing. Scroll down for the recipe!

How to Make Pretzel Bites
I was shocked at how easy it was to make pretzels in my own kitchen! Using pizza dough (I bought the pizza dough from Trader Joe’s) makes this recipe super simple to make. Rolling the dough into balls is great for getting the kids involved for making these pretzels. You could also experiment with different types of salt or even cinnamon sugar on top for a sweet version.

Making a honey mustard dip for these pretzels was a no brainer for me since I love mustard. If you’re not a fan of mustard you could also do a beer cheese dip or just eat them plain like Cory did. I also used these pretzels on my fall cheese board (you can find this in the fall issue) which is great for pairing with cheese. Trust me you’re really going to enjoy these pretzels!
Pretzel Bites + Honey Mustard Dip
Ingredients
Pretzel Bites
- 1 Pizza Dough I used the raw pizza dough from Trader Joe's for this recipe.
- 1/3 cup Baking Soda
- 1 Egg Beaten
- Sea Salt or Flaky Salt
Honey Mustard
- 3 tbsp Dijon Mustard
- 3 tbsp Honey
Instructions
Pretzel Bites
- Prep your space by lining a plate with paper towel and a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Turn your oven on to 450 degrees F.
- In a medium sized pot, bring 5 cups of water to a boil. Once the water is boiling add the baking soda and stir.
- Take your pizza dough and roll small pieces into a ball (around the size of a cherry). Put 3-4 of the pizza dough balls in the boiling water/baking soda mixutre at a time. Leave the dough balls in the water for around 45-60 seconds.
- Remove the dough balls with a slotted spoon and place on your plate lined with paper towel. Leave them on the plate for about a minute and then transfer to the parchment lined cookie sheet. Space them about 1/2 inch apart so they don't bake into eachother.
- Once your cookie sheet is full of dough balls, brush the top of them with the beaten egg and sprinkle salt on top.
- Bake the pretzels for around 12-14 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm with the honey mustard sauce.
Honey Mustard
- Mix together the honey and dijon mustard in a small serving bowl.
