Anyone else love baking fun treats for upcoming holidays?! Because it’s my favorite thing to do. I’m a huge fan of monster cookies with the oats, peanut butter and chocolate candies. Valentine’s Day Monster Cookies
I love making fun themed desserts for Valentine’s Day. It just makes the day feel a little more special with a themed dessert. These cookies are so cute with the Valentine’s Day chocolate pieces, and they’re actually really easy to make. You can have your kids help you mix the candy pieces in the dough or scoop the dough on the baking sheet.
Valentine’s Day Monster Cookies
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Butter softened
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1/2 cup Dark Brown Sugar you can also use light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup Smooth Peanut Butter
- 1 Egg at room temperature
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1 1/4 cups Old Fashioned Oats
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
- 3/4 cup Candy Coated Chocolate Pieces Valentine's Day colors
- 1/4 cup Chocolate Chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silpat liner.
- In a stand mixer or with a hand mixer, cream the butter, sugar and dark brown sugar together. Mix until the butter and sugars are both light and fluffy.
- Add the smooth peanut butter, egg and vanilla extract and mix these ingredients with the butter and sugar mixture.
- In a medium sized bowl mix the dry ingredients including the flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. I like to add it a quarter at a time making sure the ingredients are mixed together.
- Stir in the candy coated chocolates and the chocolate chips to the cookie dough. Use a muffin scoop to scoop the dough onto your prepared baking sheet.
- Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes or until just brown around the edges. Allow the cookies to cool for a few minutes before transfering them to a drying rack to cool completely.
