Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F
I used two 9in aluminum square pans to make this recipe. You could also use a 9x13 aluminum pan. Line the pan or pans with foil or parchment paper and spray with cooking spray. Trust me this really helps to get the cookie bars out after they are cooked.
In a stand mixer beat the butter, sugar and brown sugar together for 2-3 minutes until fluffy.
Add the eggs and the vanilla extract to the butter mixture and continue to beat the ingredients together.
Add your dry ingredients including the flour, baking soda and salt. Mix just until the dough has formed.
With a spoon mix the chocolate chips and candy coated chocolate pieces into the dough.
Using your hands press the dough into the pans in an even layer. Add a few more chocolate chips and candy coated chocolate pieces on top of the dough. This way you'll see some of these pieces after it's done baking.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden. Allow to cool before serving.
