4th of July Strawberry Shortcake Board

Shortcakes
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- 2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/3 cup Butter Cold and cut into pieces
- 3/4 cup Milk
- Lemon Zest From 1/2 a lemon
- Sugar For topping
Toppings
- Strawberries Sliced
- Blueberries
- Whipped Cream
- Sprinkles
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
In a large bowl combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Add the cold butter pieces and mix with your hands until the butter is in small pieces about the size of a pea.
Add the milk and lemon zest and stir just to combine. Don't over mix!
Add the dough to a floured surface and kneed 4-5 times. Shape the dough into a rectangle and use a star cookie cutter to cut the shortbread.
Place the start shortbreads on a cookie sheet (ungreased) and top with some sugar. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until slightly brown. Allow to cool.
Arrange your star shortbread on a wooden board with the fresh strawberries, blueberries, whipped cream, and sprinkles.
