- 3 1/2 cups Brioche Bread I used brioche hamburger buns cut in cubes. You could use brioche bread, French bread, sourdough bread, or Italian bread for this recipe.
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 7 Eggs
- 2 1/4 cup Milk
- 2 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 3 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
- Cinnamon Sugar For the topping
- Maple Sugar For the topping
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly butter your 10x15 in baking pan. You could also use a 9x13 pan for this recipe.
In a small pan, melt your butter and brown sugar together. Pour this mixture into the bottom of your pan.
Add your cubed bread to the pan over the butter/sugar mixutre.
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla extract. Pour this over the bread cubes in the pan. If you feel like you need more liquid add a little extra milk.
Sprinkle the top with cinnamon sugar. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until the top is browned and there is no more liquid. Serve with maple syrup.
