You just can’t go wrong with a classic banana bread. Am I right? I think banana bread is still one of the most searched recipes while in quarantine. I mean it makes sense to want to be in the kitchen, and bake an easy recipe that the whole family enjoys. Banana bread is one of Cory’s all-time favorites so I’m always experimenting with different recipes. But, this banana bread recipe is our go-to with tons of banana flavor, hints of cinnamon, and best of all it’s easy to make. Scroll down for the recipe for classic banana bread!

Classic Banana Bread Recipe
My favorite part about this banana bread is you can keep it simple or customize it by adding your favorite ingredients. If you love walnuts, pecans, chocolate chips or peanut butter chips you can totally add them to this recipe. Starting with a classic give you the ability to make this banana bread your own. In our house the classic banana bread always wins, but sometimes I love the crunch of walnuts on top or in the bread. How do you like your banana bread?

This is truly our favorite recipe, and it’s perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack. I added a little cinnamon sugar to the top of this banana bread for a little sweetness and crisp crust. This is totally optional, but I would highly recommend trying it!
Classic Banana Bread
Ingredients
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter At room temperature
- 2 Large Eggs At room temperature
- 3 Medium/Large Bananas Mashed
- 1 tbsp Milk
- 1 1/4 tsp Cinnamon
- Pinch Nutmeg
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1 tsp Salt
- Chopped Walnuts Optional
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F. Prepare your bread loaf pan by greasing it well so the bread doesn't stick.
- In a large bowl cream together the sugar and the butter. When the sugar and butter is fluffy, add your eggs one at a time.
- Add the mashed banana to this mixture. Mix until combined and then add the milk.
- In a medium sized bowl combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients a little at a time to make sure the ingredients are mixed well. Don't overmix! This is also your opportunity to stir in some chopped walnuts if you prefer them.
- Pour your batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool on a wire rack for 10-20 minutes before taking it out of the bread pan. Allow the bread to cool completely before serving.
