How are you guys getting groceries these days? We’re doing a lot of grocery delivery options right now, but I really miss some items at Trader Joe’s. Cory has gone shopping at Trader Joe’s (with a mask and gloves), and picked up some of our essentials to last us a few weeks. I’m so excited to have these items in the house right now, and thought I would share some of my favorites. Here are 31 items I always buy at Trader Joe’s.
31 Items I Love From Trader Joe’s
Ok here’s my full list of 31 items I love from Trader Joe’s! Add some of these items to your shopping list the next time you’re shopping at Trader Joe’s.
White Hydrangeas
You guys know I’m obsessed with hydrangeas. It’s impossible for me to walk into Trader Joe’s and not grab the white hydrangeas. Sometimes these flowers can last up to 2 weeks if I change the water every day. I always love having these flowers in my home, so they are a must-have.
Chili Onion Crunch
I saw many people talking about how amazing the Chili Onion Crunch was from Trader Joe’s so I had to try it. We LOVE this oil for cooking shrimp and pasta or dipping baguette bread in. It has really good flavor with a kick from the chilis and lots of onion.
Salsa Verde
I’ve been buying the Trader Joes’ Salsa Verde for years. I honestly prefer a salsa verde over traditional salsa when we make tacos at home. This salsa verde has a mix of fresh tomatillos and jalapeños for a spicy and refreshing salsa. I also love dipping the Restaurant Style White Corn Tortilla Chips (see below) in this salsa for a little snack. You can’t go wrong with this salsa – trust me.
Restaurant Style White Corn Tortilla Chips
Cory got me hooked on these Restaurant Style White Corn Tortilla Chips. He loved these chips when I bought them and requested them every time I shopped at Trader Joe’s. With a hit of lime and great crunch these chips really are a winner. At one point Cory thought they stopped making these chips when our local store no longer had them in stock. So, while my mom and I were bridal dress shopping in Chicago we brought back six bags of these chips for Cory. PS don’t worry because our local store now has these in stock. But, when I see these chips I always think about carrying these around the city and on the train with my mom.
Ciao Sliced Pepperoni
Obviously I’m a vegetarian so I don’t have a ton to say about this product. But, we make pizza weekly and Cory loves pepperoni on his pizza. I’ve bought other store brand pepperoni and he ALWAYS prefers this one from Trader Joe’s. Cory says this pepperoni has more spice, and cooks better on pizza without being so greasy.
Frosted Shredded Bite Sized Wheats
Cory and I both love a bowl of cereal in the morning. This is one of those cereals that we both love (which is rare). These Frosted Shredded Bite Sized Wheats are very thin, and have just the right amount of frosting on top. The thin bites is what we really love about these, and I would highly recommend trying them.
Smoked Salmon Dip
If you’re looking for a new appetizer check out the Smoked Salmon Dip from Trader Joe’s. This salmon dip is one of our favorites served with crackers or veggies. I love that this dip has some texture to it, and the capers add a great flavor. This is one of those dips to have on hand when we can finally entertain again.
Frozen Roasted Corn
If you haven’t tried the Frozen Roasted Corn at Trader Joe’s it’s a must. I use this to make their Roasted Corn & Feta Salad, in chili or for taco night with sautéed veggies. This frozen corn really adds a depth of flavor with the roasted element.
Everything But The Bagel Seasoning
If you haven’t try the Everything But The Bagel Seasoning you’re missing out. The seasoning on top of an everything bagel in a jar is pretty much the best thing ever. You can use this seasoning on salmon, in a dip, on veggies or avocado toast…the options are endless.
Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
I’m literally obsessed with the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips from Trader Joe’s. I honestly eat a handful of these every day (I’m not joking). Beside eating them they are THE BEST in chocolate chip cookies. These chocolate chips are slightly bigger than typical chocolate chips so they do really well in baked items. I usually grab three bags of these chocolate chips every time I go to Trader Joe’s.
Parmesan Reggiano Cheese
You’ll probably notice I’m in love with all the cheese at Trader Joe’s. If you’re hosting a party and need cheese for a charcuterie board Trader Joe’s is the best place to go. This Parmesan Reggiano Cheese is my all time favorite for a cheese board or for cooking. This is also the cheese we use when we make cacio e pepe at home.
Unexpected Cheddar Cheese
If you haven’t tried the Unexpected Cheddar Cheese at Trader Joe’s make sure you add this to your shopping list. This cheese is one of my favorites to put on a cheese board. Those crystalized pockets of goodness you find in Parmesan cheese mixed with a creamy cheddar cheese is the best combination EVER.
Isreali Couscous
We’re actually using the Isreali Couscous from Trader Joe’s for dinner tonight. This is one of our favorites that can easily be made for a weeknight dinner served with veggies or shrimp. If you haven’t tried this before I would highly recommend it!
Protein Patties
In case you didn’t know, Trader Joe’s recently started offering plant based burgers. The Protein Patties are really good for vegetarians (like myself) to have a burger option that actually tastes like a burger. I love these on the grill during the summer!
Maple Pecan Granola Cereal
If you love granola you have to try the Maple Pecan Granola Cereal at Trader Joe’s. This cereal has a lot of flavor and really good crunch. It’s perfect to have a bowl of this granola with milk or yogurt in the morning.
Fig & Olive Crisps
I got hooked on these Fig & Olive Crisps while living in Chicago. These are always a big hit when entertaining, and pair really well with cheese or dips. The mix of sweet from the figs, salty from the olives and savory from the cracker itself is really good.
Tomato Basil Marinara Sauce
You can’t go wrong with this classic Tomato Basil Marinara sauce. This sauce is great for making lasagna, stuffed shells or any baked pasta or spaghetti. It’s a staple in our pantry for a quick weeknight pasta meal.
Pizza Dough
We always do pizza night on Sunday nights, and love using the pizza dough from Trader Joe’s. They offer three different types of pizza dough: plain, herb and whole wheat. I would highly recommend the plain pizza dough. Leave the dough in the refrigerator and take it out 30 minutes before you plan to make pizza.
Enchilada Sauce
Cory and I love to make enchiladas during the week for an easy weeknight meal. The enchilada sauce from Trader Joe’s has a good amount of spice without being overly spicy. It’s quick and easy to make enchiladas with some veggies, rice or beans and add this sauce on top.
1000 Day Gouda Cheese
This is another one of those cheeses that you have to add to your next cheese board. People always ask me what cheese this is when I serve it on a cheese board. The 1000 Day Gouda is one of the very best cheeses to buy at Trader Joe’s (in my opinion). Cory is obsessed with gouda, and this one has a depth of caramelized flavor with the crystalized pieces. It’s so good!
Organic Green Bella di Cerignola Olives
If you didn’t know, I LOVE olives. I’m a happy girl with a class of wine and snacking on some green olives. These Organic Green Bella di Cerignola Olives are awesome from Trader Joe’s.
Dark Chocolate Covered Almonds
My sister got me hooked on these Dark Chocolate Covered Almonds from Trader Joe’s. It’s impossible for me to only eat one, and I always end up eating more than I should. The dark chocolate almost has a coffee like aftertaste which I love.
Frozen Chopped Spinach
I love using the Frozen Chopped Spinach from Trader Joe’s in lasagna or stuffed shells. This frozen spinach is great to stock up on for different recipes.
Sliced Prosciutto
Again, you know I’m a vegetarian so I don’t have too much to say about the prosciutto. But, Cory loves this prosciutto on a charcuterie board, as a snack or on pizza. I always buy this for him when I make a Trader Joe’s run.
Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil
You can’t go wrong with the Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Trader Joe’s. This olive oil is perfect for cooking and also used for dipping bread. This olive oil is a staple in our house.
Lightly Salted Edamame
Cory and I love these Lightly Salted Edamame from Trader Joe’s. You can find this product in the frozen section. It’s so easy to make and tastes amazing.
Basil Plant
One of the 31 things I love from Trader Joe’s is this basil plant. What could be better than having fresh basil in your kitchen? I’m loving our basil plant right now to add some extra flavor on pizza or pasta. I also want to try making some pesto with the basil.
Peanut Butter Filled Pretzels
Another favorite item from this list of 31 items I love from Trader Joe’s are these peanut butter filled pretzels. If you haven’t tried the peanut butter filled pretzels you need to add these to your shopping cart. I’m already obsessed with pretzels, and the addition of peanut butter in the middle is SO GOOD. These are a perfect snack for the whole family to enjoy.
Maple Syrup
This maple syrup is the very best on top of pancakes and waffles! We love how it’s not overly sweet, and has a great maple flavor. You can’t go wrong with this maple syrup from Trader Joe’s.
Crumbled Feta
We love using the crumbled feta in salads during the week. Cory has been grilling romaine and adding a vinaigrette with the crumbled feta. This is a classic staple to have on hand for salads.
Tricolor Quinoa
I love using the Tricolor Quinoa when I make vegetarian chili. This quinoa has really good flavor, and I always keep in stocked in my pantry.
